Direct-to-garment printing (DTG

Direct-to-garment printing (DTG
Direct-to-garment printing or otherwise known as DTG is one of the newest solutions in the printing world. No more need for screens, but garment is placed onto a platten system that will hold it in place. Desired design will then be printed onto the garment. Thanks to that the whole process is faster, cheaper and therefore more suitable with smaller quantities. This makes DTG great choice, especially for smaller companies or even groups of friends or for a family who wish to have a product with a certain design. High quality digital printing allows to use more complex design and design with finer details. The result will still have higher resolution. DTG inks work best with a garment that is at least 50% cotton. That opens up a wide variety of products – from socks and hats to shirts and hoodies. DTG does require pre-treatment to be applied. During the pre-treatment fibers of the garment will be laid down with the help from the heat press. Pre-treatment will help the water-based inks to bond better with the garment therefore creating a higher quality result. Pre-treatment is extra important when you wish to use white ink on darker garment.
