Need help with UV printing?
Ovision helps with both small and large orders.
If you need solutions for various printing needs, feel free to contact us. The UV printing offered by Ovisioni is one of the most reliable ways to apply your desired design to any material. UV light was first used in the beauty industry, specifically to cure nail polish. From there, ultraviolet light was adopted in the advertising industry, but now UV printing is becoming increasingly common in interior design—not only in office buildings but also in homes.
Printing on Wood
Plywood, wood, and fiberboard are a few examples of wood materials that can be decorated using UV printing. The wood grain showing through the design makes the result truly unique. With UV printing, designs can be printed on individual items suitable for private use, as well as in larger quantities, making it ideal for small businesses, for example. It doesn’t matter whether the desired product is a small coaster or a large sign—UV printing is no problem. You can add, for example, a nice quote, a company logo, or even an image to wooden items, making an ordinary product significantly more personal.
If you plan to use the product outdoors, UV printing is the first step. To ensure a long-lasting result, it should also be coated with varnish. Untreated wood simply won’t last outdoors, and if the wood becomes damaged, it will also affect the printed image.
Printing on Various Materials
Thanks to modern technology, UV printing is a versatile solution capable of meeting the needs of all customers. A closer look at the printer reveals that it is designed so that a UV lamp is located right next to the print heads. It is this lamp that ensures a high-quality, long-lasting result: as soon as the ink is sprayed onto the material, the lamp illuminates the corresponding area and the ink cures almost instantly.
Depending on the material, however, the design approach may vary slightly. When printing on light boxes and light panels, approximately 50 percent more ink is added to ensure the result remains as vivid as desired. When printing on wooden items intended for outdoor use, it is essential to apply a varnish; metal items that will be subjected to heavy use should be laminated. UV printing can be done directly onto the material—such as furniture components, signs, glass, and the like. If you have questions about a specific material that we haven’t mentioned, feel free to contact us and we’ll look into it.
UV printing is applied directly to a flat surface, and since ultraviolet light is used to cure the ink, the products do not require additional drying. A varnish can also be used to create a textured finish. Vibrant colors and a finish that is water-, heat-, and highly wear-resistant are guaranteed on any material, making these products suitable for a wide range of applications.
Printing on Plastic
UV printing is one of the most weather-resistant solutions. However, plastic is considered one of the most weather-resistant materials, so combining plastic with UV printing yields truly excellent results. The ultraviolet light used to cure the ink helps preserve the vibrancy of the colors even when the product is used outdoors. Acrylic panels, door signs, posters, and billboards are examples of items that must withstand sun, wind, rain, and snow. In a home setting, UV printing on plastic comes in handy when you want, for example, a unique clock, wall decoration, or—why not?—a pattern on plastic patio furniture.
Printing on Metal
UV printing helps create truly unique solutions. Offering exceptional precision and rich detail, UV printing allows you to apply the desired image to, for example, metal business cards, menus, cufflinks, pens, thermometers, keys, and basically anything else you can think of. It is also very commonly used for designing information boards and logo plaques. This is a weather- and temperature-resistant solution, and although metal is used, there is no need to worry about corrosion. The print can be either black-and-white or in color, and the result can be either flat or embossed.
